Who we are
Memory Tails is published by Marble Comet LLC, operating publicly as Marble Comet Studios, in Virginia, United States. The game does not require a Memory Tails account and does not use a publisher-operated gameplay, analytics, or leaderboard server.
Information stored locally
The app may store the following information on your device:
- Companion species, name, appearance, accessories, dates, and archive state.
- Story progress, unlocks, records, achievements, cosmetics, local leaderboards, and Daily Memory history.
- Aggregate play statistics and first- and last-played dates.
- Audio, visual, control, accessibility, haptic, and other game settings, including whether the optional Daily Memory reminder is enabled.
- A locally derived age range used to apply age-appropriate privacy and advertising treatment. The app does not retain a date of birth.
- A local Remove Ads ownership hint and local review-state flags.
This information supports local game features and is not sent to a Marble Comet server.
Optional Daily Memory reminder
The Daily Memory reminder is off by default. If you enable it in Settings → General → Daily Memory reminder, the app asks your device for notification permission. If permission is denied or later revoked, the reminder remains off. You can disable it in the same setting or in your device's notification settings.
When enabled, your device schedules one local reminder each day around 6:00 p.m. in your device's local time. Delivery may be slightly later to preserve battery life. If you have already completed that day's Daily Memory, the next reminder is postponed until the following day.
Your choice and the schedule stay on your device. The reminder uses fixed text and contains no gameplay, profile, account, or other personal data. Memory Tails does not use a push-notification server or register or upload a push-notification token. Disabling the reminder or resetting app settings cancels the scheduled reminder. Uninstalling removes the app's local data, subject to your operating system's behavior.
Android advertising and data
The Android version uses Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform. It may display a banner during active gameplay and an optional rewarded advertisement that grants one Repair. No third-party mediation adapters are currently used. The iOS version is currently ad-free.
On Android, Google Mobile Ads automatically collects and shares an IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location; app interactions such as launches, taps, and video views; diagnostic and performance information; and device or other identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID. These data may be used for advertising or marketing, analytics, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Depending on your region and privacy choices, Google and the ad-technology providers identified in the consent message may process this information.
Google controls information it processes under its own policies. Read more in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent and privacy choices
Before starting Google's consent or advertising services, the Android app asks you to enter a birth date solely to calculate an age range. The birth date is cleared immediately after that calculation and is never stored; only the derived age range remains on the device. The app does not start those services until this step is complete. Users under 13 cannot continue into the app, and no ad request is made for them.
For users aged 13–15, the app applies Google's under-age privacy treatment and limits requested ad content to a general-audience rating. For eligible users, the app asks Google's User Messaging Platform for current consent information. Where required, it displays privacy choices and may allow you to consent, decline consent, or manage options. When Google requires a continuing privacy-options entry point, the app provides Settings → Privacy and cookie settings.
Your choices can affect ad personalization and serving. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily prevent processing needed for limited advertising, security, fraud prevention, reporting, or legal compliance.
Remove Ads purchase
Android users may make a one-time Remove Ads purchase. While a valid entitlement is active, Memory Tails does not request or display banner or rewarded ads.
Google Play processes payment credentials under Google's terms. Memory Tails never receives card numbers, bank-account information, billing addresses, or Google passwords. The app receives the product identifier, purchase state, acknowledgement state, and purchase token needed to provide and restore Remove Ads. It exchanges this information with Google Play, stores a local ownership hint, and does not send purchase tokens to a Marble Comet server.
Sharing, retention, and deletion
Marble Comet does not sell personal information. The disclosures above describe data shared with Google and participating ad-technology providers on Android. Marble Comet does not receive your locally stored gameplay records through the game.
Local profiles, progress, settings, entitlement hints, and review-state flags remain in the app's private device storage. Open Settings → Data → Reset all data to remove local gameplay data after confirmation. Uninstalling removes the app's local sandbox, subject to device or platform backup behavior.
Resetting or uninstalling does not cancel, refund, or delete a Google Play purchase; ownership may be restored from the applicable Google Play account. Google and its advertising partners control retention and deletion of information they process under their own policies. Marble Comet has no account or server-held gameplay record to delete.
Children
Memory Tails is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. A neutral birth-date screen appears before any Google consent or advertising service starts. Users who indicate they are under 13 cannot use the app. The app stores only the resulting age range locally and does not provide a Memory Tails account. If local law requires parental permission for someone of your age to use online services, use the app only with that permission. Parents or guardians with questions may contact us using the privacy email below.
Permissions and security
The app may use network access for Google advertising, consent, and Play Billing services, and device haptics when enabled in your settings. It asks for notification permission only if you enable the optional Daily Memory reminder. It does not need access to contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or photos.
Local game data is protected by the operating system's private app sandbox. Network communications made by the integrated Google services are encrypted in transit as documented by Google. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
